Structured Cabling

Structured Cabling

In Structured Cabling, there are many smaller elements that build up this larger infrastructure. This structure begins with cables being ran in succession from the field-end (where the install is meant to go), to the closet-end (where the cable goes to be linked up with the rest of the system). The closet-ends come down through the ceiling, dressed tightly and neatly throughout the rack and align with a patch panel. The cable ends (still dressed to about six inches from the head of the cable) then terminate, or hook up, to a patch panel that then works in conjunction with one, two, or many network switches in order to get the field-end device(s) online. Not only is this method useful in adding more devices, but also for adding extra Voice/Data outlets, all for the better effort of keeping our clients cables cleanly managed and to prevent them from becoming tangled, damaged, immovable, and/or appearing unsightly.

Access Control and Security

We specialize in forms of security such as Access Control. Generally, we utilize Isonas or HID card readers to facilitate access control functionality as well as mag-lock systems with a peripheral REX (Request-to-Exit) device. All that is needed to bypass such a feature is a ProxCard provided to employees by security, or in the case of egress, standing close enough to the door for the REX to deactivate the mag-lock.

Have questions on where to get started? Not to worry! Upon installation of Isonas Pure Access Cloud hardware, our technicians will sit down with our client and walk them through programming steps. Our technicians can cover adding new bypass cards, to door scheduling. We strive to not only get our clients started, but to assure their self-sufficiency and comfort using the system in the long-term.

CCTV and Business Surveillance

Looking for CCTV cameras to be added added for that extra layer of security? We've got that covered! Specializing in both PoE and Analog security camera systems, our technicians would be more than happy to install a Closed-Circuit Television monitoring system that will ensure peace of mind at all hours of the day, as well as all hours of the night. Our cameras run from their locations, back to a Digital Video Recorder or Network Video Recorder, in which all the video feeds are consolidated into one medium for distant playback or current viewing. The viewing windows in the CCTV software can be re-arranged, or moved to fit whatever configuration one finds would work best for them in the viewing environment. Should there be a need for training on the software, we can send a technician to install the system, and then teach you how to use it!

Telecom Systems

In the fast-paced world of telecommunications, the technology and delivery of voice communications is ever-evolving. Our technicians have expertise in a broad range of telecommunications, ranging from Analog voice lines to VoIP systems.

Whether it be a single Analog POTS line with Analog Telephones, a Premise-Based PBX, or a Hosted/Cloud VoIP system, we can assist in adding phones, troubleshooting, and repairing most any issues our clients may experience in their day-to-day.

Cisco VoIP Phone

Technological (r)evolution has brought telecommunications to the data/networking world of packet-switching in the form of VoIP, or Voice over Internet Protocol. Service providers offer Hosted or Cloud-based telephony utilizing an existing internet connection. Though the connection may be daisy-chained through the phone and into a computer, the actual "system" dedicated to the phones may be hosted elsewhere. This allows for easy remote access, as well as consolidation of administrative phone privileges. This means it's easier to work from home, the coffee shop, or anywhere else one's employees may find an internet connection. K&M can and will work diligently to establish a migration path to VoIP, and iron-out any new, current, or persistent problems our clients may face.

Specializing in both Analog and VoIP phones, our technicians are readily available in order to help our clients get their voice heard. We work with a wide variety of manufacturers, distributors, and service providers to find the best-fit solution for our clients and their business model. Chances are, if there's a business phone on the fritz, we may already have a resolution ready and waiting.

Phone Switch

Analog-based systems are basic in design, consisting mainly of Analog POTS Lines from the business' Carrier, or Service Provider, connects directly to telephones that will support the analog lines. Occasionally, wiring faults may occur, or hardware may fail over time, leaving one without service and thus disrupting workflow. K&M has skilled technicians to help quickly resolve issues and get our clients back on track.

Though being rapidly replaced by Hosted or Cloud-based services, premise-based PBXs or Key Systems are still prevalent in today's businesses. Often referred to as "that box on the wall", a PBX or Key System allows businesses to benefit from a robust feature set (Call Forwarding, Voicemail, Call Parking, Call Center Queuing, etc.). With a myriad of programming options and variable features available today, a premise-based system may no longer deliver the best experience for businesses or their constituents. K&M will gladly assist in collaborating and discussing what the existing system is capable of and implementing programming changes to accommodate our client's business needs.
